Vodka, part 2

There are two, early thirty guys in our group and they go out drinking a lot. On the train they had a lot to drink. Throughout the evening they kept hounding me to have a drink and I kept saying no (because 1: I only feel comfortable having a drink with someone who doesn't want me drunk [like Suzanne] and 2: I didn't want any) and they bad talked me a bit saying 'how can you be in Russia and not have a drink!' and when I told them I did and I got sick they kept saying 'oh! You need to build up a tolerance! Come on!'

Finally near the end of the night another travel mate asked me to come into the cabin with them. I said I would just cramp their style and he said they didn't expect me to drink so I said fine.

Suzanne was inside so I didn't mind going in, but then she left! So I felt awkward with these three guys and our tour leader (40 year old man). Then, of course they started hounding me again. I kept saying 'no thank you', then they asked 'if you don't drink what do you do for fun?' I said 'rock band' and apparently that was the wrong answer. So they basically all began insulting me to my face (including my tour leader). I shrugged and said I was tired anyway and went to bed.

Sorry for the rant but it just really bugged me. I never got harassed in high school for not drinking a lot, so why all the sudden here? I'm just gonna let it go, but I feel better talking to you guys about it (since I don't want to start stuff here so I'm just not going to bring it up).

The upside is: hey I'm in Russia!! And I got to practice my Russian! And when dad comes I'll see ballet! So all this lame stuff? Doesn't even matter :) plus I have someone I can always talk to no matter where I am

  1. Those guys sound like the biggest losers ever, the fact that someone my age and older would say or do any of that makes me feel really sorry for them. In the end don't worry because they will die off in a few years of liver disease (as well as Darwin's law of idiots creating their own untimely end).

Seriously though I want this tour guides name and address, I'm going to pay him a visit to thank him for all his help.

Don't worry about not trying to offend or embarrass people Nik, these guys had no problem doing it to you (even though they were the pathetic losers). Just avoid at all costs, ignore, and don't pay them any attention.

Stay close to Suzanne if you can, she seems like a really nice person (and sounds human unlike the others).
